Ayersley Park/Edge (Manchester)

My wife may be getting a 2 year contract with Astrazenica in Ayersley Park. She's a scientist. I'm a journalist. All I see on the Internet is that Ayersley Edge is home to 'footballers and their wives,' and that the area is very nouveau riche. Can anybody fill in the more day-to-day here? I'm coming from Montreal, Canada. What mind shift will I have to have to make this move work?
