Is Manchester a good city for a working holiday?

Hi all,

I'm planning to move to the UK for a working holiday but It's hard for me to decide what city to move to. I've never been to the UK, it's my first time. I'm looking for a city that is affordable to live in, with lots of attractions, friendly people and especially work opportunities. I've been doing online research and Manchester seems to be one of the best cities to live in in the UK but it's always a good idea to ask people who actually live there. Would you recommend Manchester or any other city?
