IMPORTANT!!! - MAKATI - Friday, October 4, 2013 (Manila)

MAKATI - PHILIPPINES.

On October 4 (Friday), major intersections in the Makati City central business district will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. to accommodate an anti-corruption rally.

These include Ayala and Makati avenues; Paseo de Roxas corner Dela Rosa; Ayala Avenue corner Salcedo Street; and Gil Puyat (Buendia) corner Herrera Street.

The anti-corruption demonstration will be centered at Ayala Avenue corner Paseo de Roxas in Makati City and traffic will be re-routed (see map below).

People are expected to start gathering for the demonstration at about 3 p.m., while the program will officially start at 5:30 p.m.

The rally coincides with the usually very heavy weekend rush hour traffic. Expect major traffic disruptions, especially within the central business district and nearby parts of EDSA.

The rally has the potential to draw a huge crowd, based on attendance at recent similar rallies, though it is expected to be peaceful. About Protected content officers and traffic enforcers will be deployed in the area to manage traffic and security.

Everyone one is advised to take alternate route and avoid the activity area.
