Post dated cheques method for rental payment? (Manila)

Question regarding rental.
I am currently on a Visa which has to be renewed every 29 days.
Renting a condo for the past year and I understand the method of payment is post dated cheques. The business I work for has been issuing the cheques on my behalf however that will come to an end in June.
If I am not a citizen and do not hold a business visa, am I allowed to open up a bank account which would allow for me to organise post dated cheques?
I have been to BDO and staff there don't really seem like they understand what I'm trying to explain.
Your help would be appreciated!
