Where do you find your staff? (Manila)

Our company is expanding so we have been using a couple of Philippines based recruitment websites to find staff but the results have been very frustrating.

Generally we get many interested applicants (we have been advertising for sales, marketing and admin staff over the past few months) but when we try to contact the most promising applicants, we get around a 50% success rate at contacting them. But the most frustrating part is that of those who agree to interview, maybe only 30% actually turn up.

Each of these adverts costs over $100 a time but with very patchy results. I tried to raise the matter with the websites involved, but they do not want to know.

So - is there a more successful way of finding dependable and reliable professionals in Manila?
