NGO looking for volunteers - Event is 5th of June (Maputo)

Hello everybody!

I am Claire, a French volunteer currently collaborating with Livro Aberto, a non-profit association founded in Mozambique in Protected content .

We help children to discover the joy of books, empowering them to enquire, innovate and achieve.

We are active in the communities of Mafalala and Costa-do-Sol, working with children from deeply impoverished households.

We provide a mobile library, creative literacy workshops and book-making activities using locally sourced recycled materials. We currently work with around Protected content , aged Protected content , some of whom had never seen a book before we arrived. We also have a children's library and learning centre in Jardim dos Professores, Maputo, where we run a range of educational activities.

Our yearly fund raiser will take place on June the 5th Protected content , in the Jardim dos Professores:

We need A LOT of volunteers to help us welcome kids and families, supervise the workshops, etc! A day of fun in the sun with people from very different upbringing sharing the joy of words and knowledge...

We need people during two shifts: 9:30 to 13:00 / 12H to 17:00.
Volunteers will benefit from snacks + a bracelet (=free entrance for a kid to the event).

The information meeting / briefing before the event will take place on June the 2nd, at 17:30, at Cafe Acacia.

Please, talk about it to your friends and consider giving one day (or half a day) of your time to come and help us spread the love of reading!

For those who can't, please note we are looking for partners (all sorts: pure partneship, company that could provide goods, foods, animations for fun).
