Lost Aid Worker in Marseille!

Hello Everyone,

My name is Josh. I'm an American international Aid worker going to Afghanistan to work for a French environmental NGO. Before my departure, i'll be in Marseille doing training for about a week or two.

Being an Aid Worker, i've traveled a lot, but i've never spend any time in France, with the exception of an airport or two. My French language skills encompass about the last two weeks of daily Rosetta Stone computer lessons, but i'm still extremely novice.

I was just hoping someone could give me some perspective of the city. I'm staying at a hotel near Saint Charles railway station. Maybe someone suggestions for expat friendly Bars, Cafe's, restaurants.

Not sure what my schedule is going to be, but I would love to meet up with some likeminded individuals.
