Moving to Melbourne in July!

So I have been accepted into the graduate research program at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music at University of Melbourne. I need to move my many things, but not sure what is the cheapest route and way to do this. Any ideal? Also I want to make some new friends so that I can have a good group of friends there.
