Father-in-Law Dilemma (Mexico City)

I just got married to a Mexican man and have no idea what to get his father for Christmas. His mom died when he was 12, so she is not here to give me ideas. What do Mexican (or any other nationality) women get their father-in-laws? I assume the "yearly tie" is inappropriate for a macho man?
