Fort Lauderdale - June or October? (Miami)

Hi all, I am planning to visit Fort Lauderdale for 4 weeks...could you give me advice if it is better in June or October?
How is your experience with weather in those two months? Sun, temperature, rain, etc.?
I would like to do some sports like running or cycling..and obviously swimming in the sea :)
