Current account without work contract? (Milan)

Hi everyone!

I tried to open a bank account this morning at Banca Popolare di Sondrio, but apparently I need a work contract in order to open a current account.

I would like to know: are there any banks in Italy which allow one to open a current account without needing to provide a work contract? There are some (e.g. Sparkasse) in Germany that do this.

Any help would be much appreciated!
