Housing questions (Milan)

we will be moving to the Milan area in July. My husband (an italian citizen) and I are bring our newborn and three dogs. We are looking to rent a affordable furnished apartment on the outskirts of Milan. We were looking into Monza, does anyone have any feedback or recommendations on what areas we could look at? We want to be near transportation as we won't have a car. Any suggestions would be helpful.
