Migrant Issues? (Milan)

Hi Everyone,
I really am hoping for some on-the-ground feedback from folks with what they are seeing and experiencing with migrants there in Italy? Even two years ago I did not feel safe on a trip to Belgium (Brussels)...nor was it fun to spend my money on having to endure so much of the ill-effects of so many non-Belgium interests...when I visit somewhere I hope to enjoy the uniqueness of a culture and feel safe and was surprised by what I found there in Brussels. What are you really seeing/experiencing in Italy?
