Rental without a work contract? (Milan)

Hi everyone!

Thanks to all for their help with the bureaucracy! I am facing another issue - it's virtually impossible to find apartments to rent if one doesn't have a formal work contract. I am a freelancer.

Some agents ask for a bank guarantee, but it's also difficult to guarantee for four years' worth of rent!

If anyone has any ideas of a way round this problem, I would be delighted!
