Visitin Milan in Dec-Jan

Hello,

I am visiting Milan and Rome 22nd Dec-4th Jan by my self. is Milan safe to go out alone at night or better to take taxi?

I also need some advice. safest wat to get to the central city from the Air port. I got stolen wallet by 3guys on the train last time I was there...

I hope I could join some internation events and meeting people there?
