Besides the already posted events, there‘s so much going on this month when everybody is back from vacation, so I put together some ideas for casual get-togethers and outings in good company.

Thursday, 08 September

The interesting „Royal Houses“ exhibition at Grimaldi Forum is going to close on Sunday, 11 Sept. Let‘s take the chance to see it before.
The exhibition will be open on Thursday until 22:00 hrs, conveniently late for all those who work longer hours. Entrace fee is € 12.
Let us meet at 19:30 h in the lobby. Please PM me if you want to start later.
Should you like to have some dinner together later on, we always can decide on the spot.

Saturday, 10 September

The Paris-Rome restaurant in Menton is organizing a private champagne dinner in the famous and beautiful gardens of Serre de la Madone, on the occassion of the Heritage Day of Mediterranean Gardens. Throughout the 5-course dinner, champagnes of Maison Duval Leroy will be served, as well as mineral water during and and sweet treats after the meal. Price is € 70 per person. Dinner starts at 21:00 hrs. Prior reservation is necessary.

Friday, 16 September and Saturday 17 September

More than 80 classic sailing ships and motor yachts will meet in the Port of Monaco during Monaco Classic Week. It is a spectacular event to see the yachts sail out into the Bay for various midday regattas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Special # 1: Friday at 17:00 hrs arrival of vintage Lancia cars at Place du Casino. They will cross the finish line for the Classic Rallye Torino-Monaco around 17:30 h at the Port.

Special # 2: Saturday at 10:00 hrs, all sailing yachts will participate in a Concours d‘elegance at the Port entrance, closely watched by a jury and local spectators. This is a perfect morning for coffee and croissants to go and sit along the harbor piers in the sunshine, to watch those magnificent ships sailing with flying colors.

Special # 3: Saturday afternoon, owners and crew of yachts will promenade throughout the port and man their ships dressed in the costumes of yesteryear. Maybe you can even catch a ride on an original steamboat, a regular visitor from Switzerland.

Saturday, 17 September

There‘s also a special market in Beausoleil scheduled for this particular Saturday: The Alba Truffel Market, an outdoor event staged between the Marché and the Place de Liberation. See, smell and taste ... and buy ... some of the fabulous products of the Piedmonte Region. Special guest country: Argentina. I guess, this is a good opportunity to taste some Argentinien wines. The market is open from 9 to 17:00 hrs, and on Sunday between 9 and 13:00 hrs.

Saturday, 17 September

Those interested in the history of Beausoleil, can catch up with information during today's Heritage Day. Most interesting: Open-house at the Riviera Palace, the big yellow Belle-Epoque building towering above Beausoleil. The former hotel was built in Protected content , and is a national heritage site since Protected content . Besides the impressive lobby and public halls, the huge wintergarden designed by Gustave Eiffel (yes, the one with the Eiffel tower) is open to the public, too.

Monday, 19 September

Folks interested in classical music will like to opportunity to see and hear the Chamber Orchestra of the famous Wiener Philharmoniker at Monaco Cathedrale at 20:00 hrs. On the program: Mozart, Haydn, Schubert ... something for the romantics among us !

Friday, 23 September

Various restaurants in our region participating in the culinary event week „Tous a restaurant“. The idea: Buy one dinner and the second dinner for your company at half price. A nice chance to try something new!
My suggestion: Let‘s meet for dinner in Nice at „Don Camillo creations“, a small modern restaurant in the Old Town with contemporary cuisine. Chef Marc Lavaille has learned his trade in Nice, but worked abroad, e.g. on board MS Mermoz, a French vessel which was known for its fabulous dining, as well as in St. Barths in the Caribbean. We can expect a exciting blend of Nicoise and French Caribbean cooking, I guess.
3-course-meal without beverages is € 40, so it adds-up to € 60 for two.
