Looking for a school (Montréal)

Hi

I'm moving to Montreal from France in the summer and am looking for recommendations for public schools for our kids aged 8 & 9. We are anglophone but my kids are fluent in french and we'd look to keep them in the french system. At the moment we are flexible with regards to area although it does have to have easy transport links to Concordia where i'll be going to school. Areas we're looking at the moment include Monkland, Ahuntsic and maybe Atwater. Westmount and Plateau (which we loved on our last visit) probably too expensive for us.

I'd appreciate anyone who can share experience of french school, or share tips on which ones are worth looking at as well as areas.
