Moving to Montreal in August, where to live? (Montréal)

Hello, everyone. I hope you could give me some advice. My husband and I are moving to Montreal at the end of July. We'll be living in a short-term-rental apartment for a month. Then I plan to look for a place to settle in, a convenient and affordable apartment to rent.

Here shows the map of Montreal with all the municipalities in blocks. My husband will be working in Westmount. I am thinking about looking for a place in Le Sud-Quest, Ville-Marie, Cote-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-De-Grace, Westmount, Hampstead or Verdun. A place close to downtown (We are a young couple, would be nice to live close to some exciting spots), close to a supermarket and a subway station would be great. Of course I am open to other locations which are not mentioned above.
