"Elena, who helped some people find a home in Moscow, was diagnosed with rare type of leukemia about a year ago.So far, she has gone through several types of very difficult treatments including many rounds of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, it is not enough and she needs a complicated surgery - bone marrow transplant. If done locally, the chances of successful outcome are scarily low and doing the bone marrow transplant abroad will significantly increases her chances of survival. Elena and her family were carrying the cost of treatment so far, but they are unable to pay the surgery abroad and expensive supporting medications, which are both vital.
