Moscow in August 2012 - what's on in the city?

Hi folks,
I will be staying in Moscow from the 2nd - 6th of August, visting a German friend of mine; since it will be my first time in town and my friend may be busy or even out of town during the week, I would like to get some insider-advice on gastro, bars, and cultural places to visit...and btw: who's up for some drinks?
