Strelka education programme is a post-graduate experimental course which aims to explore the challenges facing the city today and educate the next generation of urbanists. Strelka’s education focuses on research and design for the city and employs tools and approaches from a wide variety of disciplines.
In its sixth year Strelka education programme brings together urbanism, digital thinking and personal development. What we call ‘hybrid urbanism’ sets out to explore the space in which the physical and virtual urban environments meet.
The programme focuses on applying digital thinking and tools to physical environment and through that finding new solutions to complex urban issues. It also centers on the students’ personal and career development and utilizes best practices of project management and leadership training.
The programme is project-based and runs for 5 months, combining intensive on-campus training with field trips, internship, and prototype work. The working language of the programme is English.

THE PROGRAMME IS FOCUSED ON
The programme is centered on challenging you to grow personally and professionally by learning and practicing self-awareness and self-leadership, acquiring tools and techniques to develop their abilities and promote their career.
Immersed in collaborative and high-energy learning environment, you will be exposed to newest leadership and project management methods and, guided by the professional career coaches, will form their own leadership styles and toolbox.

Intensive series of exercises that pulls together urban design and digital thinking;
Wide network of experts, theorists and practitioners;
Personal and professional development.
STRELKA + HARVARD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF DESIGN COLLABORATION PROJECT
OCT 26 – DEC 7
Collaborative research and design project with the students of Harvard Graduate School of Design;
Field work and hands-on research in Moscow;
Final presentation at Harvard in Boston, US.
8 WEEKS JAN 11 – MAR 4
Professional practice with a company from Strelka’s local or international network;
Opportunity to work on a real-life urban-related project;
On-the-job mentoring and supervision.
5 WEEKS MAR 10 – APR 12
Introduction to building prototypes, tools and techniques;
Development of a prototype;
Presentation to international jury.
After graduating the programme you will become a new kind of professional who is no longer limited by a particular occupation; you will no longer be just an architect, UX designer or economist.
In 5 months you will expand your professional training and acquire skills and methods that will enable you to create and apply multifunctional and multidisciplinary solutions to current urban problems.
Strelka graduates are in high demand in urban design and urban consultancy bureaus, city municipalities, urban and cultural institutions; many work on projects for top consultancy companies, in start-ups and service companies or launch their own projects, teach and write for urban publishers.

– Completed undergraduate degree;
– Fluent English;
– Age 25 to 35 y.o;
– Good self-organization and self-motivation.
– Motivation letter;
– A copy of university diploma;
– A letter of recommendation from a former employer or internship coordinator;
– Passport scan.
– A completed application form;
– A portfolio containing examples of projects and/or research work (PDF, not exceeding a total of 10 pages) with the focus on city projects and/or digital;
– A certificate confirming English proficiency for non-native speakers (IELTS Academic — 6.5, TOEFL — 85).
