As you know both Ambassadors and Consuls are volunteering positions, and events from small get together or photo shooting walk to big official parties require lot of energy, significant time and efforts. If it’s payable event, there are might be commitments toward venues and performers included.
What is happening since last few months is that members sign up for event, but then plans are changing. Family dinner, unexpected movie date or urgent task at work – it’s all understandable and duly appreciated.
Problem is that once plans are changed people forget to cancel attendance. It takes 2 min to sign up, and believe me it takes same 2 min to cancel attendance. As per statistics on official events, we have in average Protected content % of two flags members and up to 40% of one flag members non show up.
As a result, wrong estimation is given to venue re food and drinks, relations with nice venues are complicated unnecessarily.
On behalf of Ambassador and Consul team, I’d kindly request to cancel your attendance once you know for sure that your plans changed.
It would be great sign of respect and appreciation of efforts toward organizers of the events on IN!
