Commuting to Navi Mumbai... where to live?

Hi,
I could be shortly moving to Mumbai and will be working in Navi Mumbai. Being your archetypal euro trash expat, I don't think living there is for me... However I hate commuting. Can anyone come up with any suggestions to balanced commute (ideally less than 30mins) and social life for a single 39 yr old male Brit?

Some suggestions so far are
Powai - but is this for the married types and nothing happening there??
Sewri - but told not a nice area but close to the action, but no expats there??
Sion??

Any opinion on these?

Consensus seems to be that Bandra is a commuting nightmare

if there are specific apartment blocks I should aim for then, please let me know

I also swim regularly, does Mumbai have an Olympic pool that you won't get sick swimming in?
