where to live in mumbai (Mumbai)

Hi All!
We just relocated to mumbai, and currently visiting tons of apartments... But a bit difficult to find the right one... either the apt is not in good shape, or we are unsure of the location.. i have been here for 3 weeks, and already experience hell of traffic!
My work is at andheri east, and we were looking at bandra/juhu. We found a good apt in Juhu, but now unsure of the area as it is not the neighbourhood feeling, such as what we can experience in bandra/pali hill.
We found another apt in pali hill, but it is not in a good state, and would require renovation (like kitchen furniture, one pipe seem to leak out in one bathroom...)
On top of that, we would like to join a countryclub, but not much idea or findings online... Found one in juhu called millenium.
Any advice on location/apt selection/club is really welcome.
