Accessing Mountains near Munich for Skiing

Hello!
I have recently moved to Munich and am already very excited for the start of the Snowboarding season! Unfortunately my car is nearing the end of its life and I cannot rely on it to drive to the mountains on the weekends. Does anybody know of good alternatives for getting to the mountains with all my gear for weekend ski trips?
