Extension of tourism visa (Munich)

I am staying in Germany on a tourism visa and was working with an immigration lawyer on getting a long term residence permit. However, he has been on vacation for much of August and very very soon I will reach my 90 in Protected content Schengen zone limit. Does anyone have any information on applying for a short extension for the tourism visa until the residence paperwork is complete? Or can recommend a lawyer/other person that can assist ASAP with the same?
