For all Americans; someone stood up and was heard (Munich)

The full story goes like this: Last week, Driscoll ended the city’s contract with Gordon College after the school’s president joined religious figures in signing a letter to President Obama demanding exemptions from anti-gay-discrimination rules.

A flood of phone calls and responses from “right-leaning blogs and websites” slamming her decision didn’t sit well. “Apparently, Glenn Beck is not happy about the city’s stance terminating our contract with Gordon College,” she wrote.

Then she got crafty.

Her next move was to stir up a social-media movement by telling her constituents that she’d be donating $5 for each phone call she gets protesting the decision. She’s asking residents to join the cause.

The money will go to the North Shore Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth. So far, so good. In just a few hours, her post has been shared more than 1,100 times on Facebook and has already garnered 2,132 likes.
