Moving from Ireland to Germany (Munich)

Hey all, I'm Irish, I'm 22 and I'm planning on moving to Germany in January/February, to either Munich or Hamburg. It's a big step and I'm pretty excited about it, I've never lived abroad before. I'm just wondering has anybody got any advice or tips to make my move a bit easier, and also, any suggestions as to go to Hamburg or Munich? I travelled around Europe for the summer and both cities were great!
