how to get skyp working (Muscat)

Hi
After moving to Oman quite recently I've realized that my Skyp App on my phone does not work any more. does anyone know of any trick to get Skyp baxk working properly? I was told to use VPN services but the VPN web site that were recommended to me are also blocked!
