Moving Soon and soooo scared (Muscat)

I ll be moving to Oman shortly got a good offer in one of the International banks there.
I am a single mum with 2 daughters (9&10) who ll join me as soon as i secure an apartment and of course a good English school, my work will be in a place called Ruwi any suggestions about schools and apartments, i prefer unfurnished brand new place.
Is it safe in Muscat?
