Tips for new arrivals? (Muscat)

Hello everyone,
My husband and I are planning our move to Muscat from canada where he will be working. We do not have any children however we do planning to bring our small dog. What have your experiences been with pets in Muscat? I will not be working but looking for activities to keep me busy . Have you met many expats without children? And lastly I’m horrified to learn about the hair loss some have experienced. Have any of you experienced this if so any suggestions on how to minimize this. Thank you
