A crash course of the amazing lands, wildlife and people of the Maasai Mara, this 4 days, 3 nights safari explores one of Africa’s most spectacular areas within the Great Rift Valley. The stage for the Great Migration, participants witness over a million wildebeest stampeding across the dust-filled region. The people of the Maasai Mara are as amazing as the diversity of animals contained here. Numerous prides of lions, as well as herds of zebra, buffalo, antelope, giraffe, cheetah and hyena await adventure-seekers.

Proposed Itinerary
Day Zero: Preparation for Safari: Volunteers prepare for the safari – picked up from their respective host families/hostels.
Day One: Maasai Mara: Participants will be met by their respective driver/guide in vibrant, downtown Nairobi, followed by an amazing, panoramic voyage through the enigmatic Great Rift Valley – arriving at the world famous Maasai Mara: home to the epic Great Migration of the area’s wildebeest. The day will commence as the group checks into a regional lodge where they will dine and wind down for the evening in preparation for the days ahead. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.
Day Two & Three: Maasai Mara Game Reserve: For the duration of these two days, participants will reside in accommodations arranged and approved by Youth Hostels Tours where breakfast, lunch & dinner will be available. This particular stretch of the tour – guaranteed to supply lasting memories – explores the enchanting, awe-inspiring land of the world-renowned Maasai – a cattle-herding culture still defiantly untouched by the trappings of the western world. This stretch of the journey will commence in a grand finale at the Maasai Mara – an amazing park brimming with Kenya's most concentrated, most diverse examples of wildlife. Within the realm of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, multiple safaris provide opportunities to observe Africa’s largest pride of lions as well as herds-upon-herds of zebra and antelope, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, cheetah and hyena.
Day Four: Maasai Mara/Nairobi: Participants awake for an early morning game drive, followed by breakfast. Here, participants say their good-byes and express their gratitude to their guides before being escorted back to their respective project locations. Breakfast and lunch provided.
