Frustrated - working permits (Nairobi)

Has anyone else found the processing of working permits frustrating? We have been waiting forever. Firstly we had to wait for the reopening of the embassy, now, after our permits have been submitted a month and a half ago, we got some news from our relocation company that our permit applications are still untouched. Is there something we can do to speed up the process?
