Project accountant (Nairobi)

Africa Instore Solutions Ltd (AIS) is a private limited company registered in Protected content Kenya. We provide business
development and support to SMEs through advisory and capacity development services. AIS has excellent
footprint across the East African region and has worked with various development organizations and players
in the private sector to equip business entrepreneurs, commercial social groups organizations with relevant
enterprise development skills necessary to improve their economic outlook and for the communities at large.
We work across various sub sectors with an emphasis in agricultural value chains.
AIS is involved in a program to support small holder farmers in Kenya with agricultural extension services which
include tailored information on farming best practices, access to credit and other financial facilities. To
complement the staffing for this program, we are hereby seeking a qualified Project Accountant.
Project Accountant Role
The Accountant shall be responsible for executing financial related activities to support and not limited to the
implementation of projects. The accountant will provide support in other finance areas as necessary and
maintain a positive working relationship with all office and field staff.
He/ She will be responsible for preparing project accounts, accountable for monitoring the progress of projects,
investigating variances, approving expenses, and maintain project-related accounts in the accounting system.
He/ She will ensure that the project billings are timely issued and payments collected. The accountant will
prepare and submit relevant statutory reports and tax returns. In addition he/she will be responsible for
internal and external auditors’ coordination, as required. He/ She will assist the Project team in project
analysis and reporting.
Project support: Assist in preparation of project budgets. Provide project financial reports and statements.
Assist project managers in the financial management of projects
Required Qualifications and Experience
 Accounting /finance degree or equivalent.
 CPA (K) ,
Protected content work experience in accounting. Computer literate with use of internet, excel and QuickBooks
accounting software.
 Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills with detailed knowledge of project based accounting
