Visa Question (Nairobi)

I am rather confused about the visa I should be applying for/permit I should be getting. I am relocating to Kenya with my fiance who is Kenyan. We are getting married in Kenya and plan to stay for at least a year to be by his family. I am wondering what kind of visa would be best for me to get? Ive heard rumors about marriage visas/permits but it's all very confusing. Do I have to get a tourist visa and then a permit once Ive arrived? Ive tried contacting the embassy but am never given a straight answer. Thank you so much!
