indian X visa (New Delhi)

Dear all,
i have a question and hope someone can help me.
my common law partner just received an offer for workingin new delhi.
i would follow her with an X visa which forbids me to work.
I do not like it. :)
does anybody know how easy ( difficult?) it is to change my visa from X to working once i am there?
