Another one joins the Apple! (New York)

Hey there fellow internationers (or rather internationees? :D )!
I am Dominik, a 25yo interpreter about to move to NYC for a couple of months come April 1st (no, this is not a joke). I am hoping to find some kind souls who would be willing to answer some of my burning questions regarding life in the Big Apple, which I would most gratefully repay with beverages and a nice chat in a Pub/Bar of their choosing once I have set foot in the City that never sleeps!
