German people - silly question (New York)

Really odd question but I want to learn German and part of language learning is to be exposed to the language itself. I have no idea where to meet and make German friends. I have a German citizenship as well, I am studying speech pathology and linguistics so it'd be fun just to converse with a German speaker - preferably even a clique.

So where do German speakers usually hang out or go to?
