Health Care Question (New York)

Hi everyone,

First time poster here. My wife and I (along with our 2 year old daughter) just relocated to NYC from Australia.

I am starting a new job next week and one of the questions I had was around health care cost. For family coverage the cost I have been quoted from my company is $955 a month (they contribute 50%). Coming from Australia where family coverage is around $350 a month, it sounds quite expensive but I have nothing to benchmark it against.

Does this sound right? Has anybody gone through a different private health insurer for families and how much are you spending?
