Moving into NYC (New York)

Hi All! I have been offered a new a job and will be moving from Argentina to NYC by mid-september. I can think of no place better than this forum to reach out to people who have gone through the experience of relocating to the big apple and ask for advice on how not to go insane in the process.
At the moment I'm analyzing the salary proposal I received last week and deciding where to leave (Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn and Jeresey City are my current options with Manhattan being last).
I don't want to make this post too long, so feel free to ask any questions that would help in providing specific advice. In any case I really appreciate any feedback you can share with me!
