Moving to New York in September

Hey All, I'm a British Citizen with American Birthright and shall be moving to New York City in September. I was wondering if anyone knows of any English / Irish bars, pubs, restaurants or cafes in which i could possibly find work. Is there a community of bars and pubs like there is in Paris? Where would the best place to start looking be? Also if anyone has any advice on resumes and how they are set out in the States, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot.
