My holiday in New York from 14 to 22 April !

hi !
I'm flying to new York for one week holiday, and I'm going to stay in an apartment in Park Avenue.
Can you suggest me where to go to have aperitif and also to have a good dinner, where I and my friend can eat well for the right cost? you know in Italy we are accustomed very well about eating ....
Is it safe to walk trought Manattan at night for women ?
and for the day ...? any suggestion ?
