New Year Event and other information (New York)

Hi All,
I will be in NYC from Dec 29 to Jan 5.
I would like to see the Ball Drop in Time Square and I'm looking for a restaurant with a good view, can you help me to find it?
I was wondering also how enjoy a show in Broadway and if is possible to join to the basket match in Madison Square Garden, can you let me know where I can buy a ticket?
