Relocating to New York

Hi Everyone
I recently joined and I am seriously seeking employment in New York. I have a degree in Industrial Psychology and International Relations and I am an HR Manager at a well known Logistics Company. Does anyone have any advise for me? My research shows there's a number of things one would need before relocating to New York, most important: being a secured job but it isn't that easy. Please do share even if you have advise whereby you too have been in a similar situation as myself before actually moving to NY. Please share your experience...I would even consider a job outside my current profession or even any position within HR. I am even able to cover the costs of the relocation should any employer be willing to consider my request for a relevant position.
