BUILDING CLOSE RELATIONSHIPS
They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers-Act 2:42.
In the days of the early church there was little if any distinction between church and regular life. That’s because church was not a place to go;rather,it was the people with whom you associated in your desire to grow in faith. Descriptions of the early church like the one found in the book of Acts frequently include the mention of breaking bread. Breaking bread represented the concept of fellowship of doing life together.1 Pet 3:8
The idea of doing things together is quite simple. It means exploring and applying your faith in Community with others. The best way to do this is in a small group. Use your time together to get to know everyone. Share dreams. Study the bible. Pray. As you know each other, celebrate each person’s successes .Throw birthday parties, new jobs or business achievement parties. Serve each other’s needs in practical ways.Pick up children ofa group member from school or offer a helping hand when a group member is experiencing lean financial time. Learn to love one another. Ps 55:14, Amos 3:3
Explore the possibilities of a small ministry of our church; consider sharing community with members of your local women fellowship, Men Fellowship, Sunday School Students and so on.Gal 6:2.The opportunities for living your fellowship by example of the early church are still available and just as valuable today. In the time you spend with members of your small group, you will discover what it means to do life together. Roman 15:24 .You will get a glimpse of the reason God created you in the first place to do life with Him
