Volunteering in Astana?

My kids will be starting school in two weeks and I'm wondering if anyone has any volunteer leads. My fellow hockey wives and I tried to volunteer at the Infant-Preschool Orphanage two years ago but the orphanage was very suspicious of us for some reason! I think they thought we were undercover government agents or something haha!!!!

I especially feel like I could be using my time here in Astana for some good, but I'm not sure where to start. I emailed SOS Childrens Village in Astana with no response thus far.

Any leads or suggestions would be appreciated! (I'm not really wanting to teach english)
