2. PayPal Greater Europe: The Greater Europe team builds and implements PayPal footprint expansion strategies across 40 new markets representing a total potential of Protected content inhabitants. The focus is a blend of :
- Countries getting a high degree of specific attention, like Scandinavia and Turkey and Russia
- Markets where our development is based on enabling cross-border trade thanks to a highly scalable generic product offering.
Our product and marketing departments are based in centrally in Paris, while our sales and development teams are often based in our local markets.
3. Overall purpose of role:
The content manager, Scandinavia, based in Paris, will be representing the local market expertise, local approach to the web and e-commerce, ways to address Scandinavian consumers and merchants in his/her interactions with the marketing and product department. The position reports into the Product Director, Greater Europe and dotted line to the Head of Content Management, Europe.
The content manager, Scandinavia, will manage and create customer-facing content that ensures a positive user experience of the PayPal brand and product in Scandinavia. A Content Manager is expected to execute quickly and efficiently, is conceptually strong, and works closely with marketing managers, product managers, customer service, visual designers and business units to produce smart, effective collateral and online content.
4. Core responsibilities:
Understand and promote the specific context for Scandinavia to the benefit of PayPal Greater Europe Product and Marketing.
Consistently write and review content that meets defined project and objectives for a range of PayPal's businesses across marketing, product, PR and customer service for Scandinavia.
Support EU Content Management team as necessary, and have responsibility for leading projects
Proactively take on project initiatives based on statistical data, customer feedback, product specifications and marketing objectives (e.g. redesign of templates, style guide, booking, or process improvements) as necessary, setting deliverables and deadlines, and helping to drive projects to completion
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal as well as written in at least one Scandinavian language and English, over the phone as well as face-to-face and have the ability to manage the workflow of concise product and marketing content with a strategic and memorable style.
Fair understanding of Internet technologies and product is a must, as well as a strong appetite to discover more in this field.
Must be a fast self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Professionalism in all aspects of daily tasks. Remains calm under pressure.
Understanding of the PayPal user experience and the ability to craft creative solutions to enable a better user experience.
Taste for marketing and reaching out to all kind of customers: from consumers to B2B.
Bilingual English and at least one of the three following languages: Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, French a plus
Interactive/web writing and editing background
Experience in the B2B e-commerce, consumer-facing services or retail industries
Experience writing for a world-class brand
Ability to develop and manage content that supports objectives with minimal direction
Understanding of the PayPal user experience and the ability to craft creative solutions to enable a better user experience
Technical skills: Overall good Microsoft Office skills, ability to read spreadsheets and reports and take action upon outcome and results, ability to create and/or read Web analytic tools data for site optimisation (Google analytics, Site Catalyst). Basic HTML and photo editing tool familiarity an advantage
