D number, tax office etc etc... PLEASE HELP (Oslo)

can anyone help!! this D number business, when i first moved over we did the registration thing and when we we to the police station they sent us to the taxt office and the tax office said i need a job before i get any numbers sorted... i just had a job interview and they said i should be able to get a temp number or actually get it all sorted...

iv never moved country before so i dont know how all this works and i dont think the tax office or police seem to either... by experience, what has everyone else done?

please enlighten me as this is very important for obvious reasons!
