"Jasmine and Fire: A Bitter Sweet Year in Beirut" (Ottawa)

There will be a Book review and presentation on Tuesday August 14 by Salma Abdelnour to be held at Library and Archives of Canada at Protected content Street at 7:30 pm.

The book "Jasmine and Fire: A Bitter Sweet Year in Beirut" is about a girl who left Beirut at the age of 9, with her family, when the bombs were falling. Now a homesick daughter returns---in a turbulent time---
to see if it is still home.

Salma Abdelnour is a writer and editor based in New York City. She has been the travel editor of Food & Wine, the food editor
of O, The Oprah Magazine, and the restaurant editor of Time Out New York. Salma has made numerous TV and radio appearances—
on CNN, CNBC, WNBC, the Style Network, and the Fine Living Network, among others—to discuss her food and travel adventures.
Her work has been anthologized in two volumes of Best Food Writing .Admission is free. There will be light refreshments and you will get the chance to get a signed copy of the book for the discounted
