Scoping out Mexico (Ottawa)

I am 49 years old, was working for the gov but now on long term disability with the government after early onset Parkinson's diagnosis at 38. I was in Mexico and realize I need the great weather, slower pace of living and hopefully a community of expats that have time and flexible hours so I want to move there six months of the year. Is there anyone that would be willing to rent me a room and show me around to meet expats in OCTOBER of this year?
